Lights & ShadowsHi!
I would like to know some things about this part of MAKEITGOOD.
You may not know this, but i am making a new track called 'Urnes World' & and i think that lights & shadows could be a really good thing to know something about.
To start with i would like to know what keys, you use to swap between the lights and Shadowboxes?
I also know that most shadows are made in 3D Studio Max, but as i don't got that program, i would like to know if there is any trick to make the shadows on an other way?
I am sure i got alot of more question when you reply, but until now, i will wait.

To switch between light's use spacebar. I experimented with light's in my latest track.
And i am pretty sure shadows (for revolt) only can be made in 3ds max

Lights & ShadowsI think it is possible to make a shadow by placing lights aside to each other, and then make a sqaure for an example. but this will mean alot of work, on very long tracks xD

real shadows (visible casted ones) can be (and have to be) made in a 3d software like max by coloring polygons,
shadowboxes (not visible, works by muting the radiance and reflections on the car's body) are made in makeitgood.
shadows made in max have to be completed with shadowboxes in makeitgood by creating boxes that match and cover the area of the darkened polygons, so the cars driving on it will loose their shiny reflections while being inside the shadowbox, providing a realistic effect of a shadow.

Aaah, i understand now. Could be cool if someone made a program that only created shadows for revolt, but as it is right now, i have to learn Max some dagy

yes, learning max is still easier than getting somebody to create a software, i would imagine .
best way of learning max is reading a book like the max bible and keep on trying what you've read live in max. creating revolt tracks with max requires the same skills as you would create anything else with it, so the right way is not trying to force max to suit revolt, but learning max first and than creating tracks and anything else with the software.

I might give it a try someday. Im not sure that i have the patience or the english skills to do so though...

i am sure there is a danish version for both the book and the software as well
patience depends on how badly you want to create things, although it takes a lot of time.

As far as i can see (i've been searching for a while now) there is guide book on danish (which costs 80 dollars) but no software on danish..

maybe there is no danish max, they don't really care, there is no version in my own language either. but the book is available in hungarian.

If there isnt one on magyar there's no chance that there are one on danish, to bad, cause that would indeed be helpfull
